Btw...

I HAVE COMPLETELY RECOVERED!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE =)))))))))))

I will not take my voice for granted again. Nor my ability to eat ice cream, chocolates, spicy spicy food, drink smoothies, milkshakes, bubble tea and other cold drinks. HAH

freshly cut grass.

Sometimes, I am quite convinced that my week totally revolves around the weekend. Or better yet, a LONG weekend. Kinda like the last one=)

Well, a bunch of us gathered to celebrate Ivy's birthday at Flagstaff Gardens on the beautiful Friday morning=) I don't really know how to put into words exactly how I felt when I was at the park, with these people, gathering to celebrate such a beautiful person. But I will try.

Here goes... DON'T LAUGH

It's like;

1. the smell of freshly cut grass on a bright but cloudy morning

2. snuggling in the toastiest doona on a cold winter night

3. taking a perfectly baked cake out of the oven whilst basking in the warm aroma of vanilla essense, eggs, butter and flour

4. opening presents with family on christmas midnight with the tunes of "chesnuts roasting on an open fire~..." playing in the background

5. a revelation of knowing the vast capacity God gave us to bless others

Hmm... well that's the best I could come up with! Now for the pictures that painted the thousand words I could not express.

Picnic!

Not quite the perfect picture thanks to the spiteful glare of the boy in brown=s

thoughts galore.

These 2 days my mind has been filled to the brim with thoughts. Sad thoughts, happy thoughts, useless thoughts, random thoughts, what-needs-to-be-done thoughts, i-love-you-guys-so-much thoughts, i-miss-you-la-ann-and-weki-we-must-go-to-laurent-soon thoughts and many more.

But right now, I'm just going to stop, sit back, drink a warm mug of tea, do my S.O.A.Ps and rest.

"contented sigh"=)

favour and grace.

Today was such a wonderful day! I started off the day saying; Morning Father! It's such a beautiful day. Thank you for being the best Father ever. Father, I commit today into your hands. I pray that You will lead me and guide me through today. Lord, I want to only please You. I pray that as I focus my attention on your wonderful wonderful face, everything else will fade into oblivion.

And fade into oblivion it did=) I completed a model of a mausoleum at work today! I'm so thrilled because I raided our storeroom and found miniature shrubs to stick on the model and seriously, vegetation of any kind makes such a HUGE difference to a model!

Lookie=)

And yesterday Phil gave me a lift to the city in his 1964 Buick! It was such a treat and I felt like a superstar. Although I highly suspect that I'm more thrilled that I got to sit on the right side since the car was a left-hand one than the fact that it was a vintage car. I never, I repeat; NEVER get to sit on the driver's seat due to my abysmal driving skills=( SO YAY i got to sit in the driver's seaTTT!! (well sort of... don't rain on my parade please)

Had a pleasant walk during lunch today and Ivy Poh picked me up after work, saving me a tram ticket and walking in the dark. Thank you so much dear heart.=) And we met Steve and went for hot soup!!! Perfect for a cold night such as this.

Dear Pheebs, Nick, Zaa, Ivy, Steve, Val, & Sue-Lee. You guys make my world so beautiful. If only you knew how much!=)

It's so nice to sit here and marvel at God's blessings, knowing how much He has in store of us and how He is in control of it all. Work, relationships, life, He's got it covered. How cool is that??

Have a good weekend everyoneeee!!!!!!!!!

p/s: i have a new doona! It's an amazing feeling; waking up warm. I highly recommend it.

english oral.

My sister Sonia is one of a kind. We are the best of friends and tell each other everything. From how many strokes she took to brush her teeth this morning to a detailed description of what she recited for her english oral examination.

Please find below; my sister's english oral examination, delivered last night via email. Please let me know what grade you think she should get for it.=)

A very good morning to my english teacher Pn.Wong and all my friends. The topic that I will be speaking about this morning is 'The Chicken I Never Knew'. It all started on my 14th birthday. My family and I celebrated my 14th birthday at a fancy restaurant. I received many presents from my family and friends. I actually counted my presents and I realized that I was short of one, and that one was supposed to be from my sister that was and still is in Australia. I thought she had forgotten all about my birthday and I was actually really sad. A few days later, when I've decided to get over it, I received a phonecall from my grandfather. He told me that he received a parcel that was addressed to me. I was suprised. I told my parents about it and we decided to collect the parcel that very evening. When i reached my grandfather's house, I quickly grabbed the parcel and I was shocked because it was unbelievebly light. I read the card that came along with the parcel and I found out that it was from my sister. I was curious to know what was inside, because I couldn't think of what my sister would give me. When I reached home, I quickly open the present as I was eager to find out what was within the parcel. Oh, oh,oh!!! Guess what's inside????? The chicken I never knew! On the 24th September 2006, at precisely 6.47pm and 43 seconds PINKEN was born. =) Now I would like to tell you the history of the name Pinken. As you can see that Pinken is a pink chicken, and thats the end of the history of the name Pinken. But Pinken was a very lonely chicken, as there was no other chicken like himer( have not decide if its a boy or girl ). So I decided to scout for a friend for Pinken. One day as I was shopping in OU, something caught my eye and guess what i found, Yinken!!! Not long after, they became bast friends. They did many things together, they ate together, sleep together, laugh together and basically they did everything together. On the 28th November 2007, we went to Camerons with me. They met many new friends such as Adelynn, Joanna, Khai, Michael and many more. One more thing, Pinken is not only a chicken. It has 2 personalities. Well, as for one it is a chicken but the other....... ahha, a walrus, I bet you didn't know that!! =) With this I would like to end my speech. Thank you.

I wrote others also la, but i can't remember anymore.. and i brought Pinken to school! =)

beautiful people.

Well as most of you know, I have been sick for the past 2 weeks. I'm sure it comes as no surprise to most of you since I've unashamedly been complaining, moaning, groaning and whinging about it. I am very sorry for putting all of you through the agony of hearing me proclaim over and over again that I'M SO SICK OF BEING SICK!

Dear all, thank you so much. For chicken soup and pumpkin soup, packed dinners and lunches, visits, overseas calls, lozenges, warm teas, countless get well wishes and words of encouragement. I am so touched and I feel so loved.

You know who you are.

Much love and appreciation.

God bless you.

=)))))))))))))))

oh! i'm feeling much better btw! Just a cough left. Won't be long now!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

at ivy's place.

It is very pleasant sitting in ivy's room smelling the aroma coming out from the kitchen and knowing for a fact that I'm going to have a scrumptious dinner=) Ivy & Steve, you guys never fail to blow me away with your generosity. Love lots. =) Really really...

Today can only be described as painfully triumphant.

Scenario 1:

It is no easy feat looking after 15 kids below 6 despite having 3 other adults fighting the same battle. But, we did it! =)

Scenario 2:

Well, I have to buy a new doona and my budget is 100 dollars. It was quite a depressing search as all the goose down doonas range from 160 dollars to 599 dollars=( But the final blow was when I got sidetracked at myer where a beautiful khaki green jumper with fur around the collar resides. It was 80 dollars!! Dude, that's 20 dollars below my budget......... Except that it's a jumper and not a doona=( But if you think about it, I probably wouldn't be able to get a doona with 100 dollars anyway. So I might as well forget about the doona and buy something else worthwhile that is within my budget, no?

Well, sadly, as you know, the answer is no.

So with superhuman determination and strength (and also 2 emergency phonecalls to ivy poh about needs and wants) , I put the jumper back onto the rack. Yes, impressive I know. But very very painful...

Yup! that just about sums up my day!

Am going off to bed to dream about the jumper because sadly, that is all it is now.... A distant dream=(........

daydreaming.

There's nothing like a slightly cloudy weather, a hot mug of tea, a view of the sky and a good, comfy jumper to make one daydream.

How nice would it be if we all went for vacation to the Alps. We could go visit Heidi and Grandpa! Or perhaps Austria where were could run the hills singing "the Hillls are aliveeeeeeeeeeeeeee with the sound of muuuuuuuuusiiiicccccc" Or Prince Edward Islands in Canada where we can see the hometown of my favourite character of all time, Miss Anne-spelled-with-an-"e" of Green Gables.

Hmm.....

all smiles.

I am feeling quite homesick today. It's hard to describe homesickness but here's a small glimpse of my family and a little window to the depths of my homesickness.

My dad tells the funniest jokes in the world! For those of you who have heard me tell some jokes and found it funny, it's not even 1% of how funny my dad's ones are! As for the rest of you who did NOT find it funny, well, it's not even 1% of how funny my dad's ones are! And for those of you who don't get it, I mean my dad's jokes are 100 times funnier than mine.=)

My mom.... is funny. But not for her jokes. Allow me to enlighten you. I received an e-mail from my mom this morning and these were her exact words;

yesterday nite, could sleep well cos drank too much tea and now a bit of sleepy. love you, mummy

MUMMY! WHEN I READ YOUR EMAIL I LAUGHED AND CRIED AT THE SAME TIME YOU KNOW!!!!! I think my director thought I was constipated=( or crazy... either one.

Dearest mummy, boy, son, che and adrian. I know you read my blog so if one of you would be so kind to print out this post for daddy to read since he can't figure out what to do next after turning on the computer, it will be greatly appreciated.

I miss them so much.

I miss watching all sorts of drama drama until the wee hours of the morning.

I miss taking out a brand new tissue box, placing it on the coffee table, look my mom in the eye as both of us utter the word, "READY" and click the "play" button to the soppiest, sookiest korean drama ever and bawling our eyes out.

I miss putting on a pair of rollerblades, get HAULED to my feet by my dearest brother only to resign to being pushed from the back by my sister and guided from the front by my brother. Around our front yard.

I miss making fun of my brother's band with my dad and sister in the dining room as the band practiced in the living room.

I miss stealing freshly cooked food from the stove before mummy notices. Oh wait, I still get to do that now with Phebe. HAH! There is balm in Gilead afteraLLLLL=P

I love you all very much.

turtles.

Today marks a new experience for me. The feeling of wanting to be a turtle. It must be a relief to just be able to shrink into a shell sometimes. Oblivious to surroundings, people, everything in general=)

But other times, it's really fun NOT being a turtle. I mean think about it, you get to walk reeeally fast, wear colours other than dark green and see things other than feet.

But for now... boy, it really must be a blast being a turtle!

stuff it.

My nose is stuffed, my ears are stuffed, my head is stuffed, i feel like a lump of something stuffed. Such is life of one who has the flu=(

ooh!! I feel a rhyme coming...

When you're down and so alone,
And you feel like no one's around,
Catch a cold and you'll soon find
That life before was much more kind

When you tilt your head towards the stars
and marvel at the beauty above
be thankful that it's not just a pose
of the only way to clear a blocked nose

Okay, clearly the flu has stuffed my brains as well.

Toodles!

oh dear.

I still remember my primary school days very clearly and yesterday truly brought them back to life. It all started when I woke up with a scratchy throat and a slightly-higher-than-usual temperature. My heart danced a familiar little jig for joy as I gleefully thought, “YES! guess who doesn’t need to go to work todaymuahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHA??”

So with high spirits, I watched the clock tick away. When the clock struck 9.10am, I thought, “It’s Time…” Putting on my scratchiest voice and trying to sound sicker than I am, I called the office. I basked in everyone’s sympathy for a full 5 minutes before hanging up. I then proceeded to the Louse’s room, pounced on her bed and declared that I am NOT going to work MUAHAHAHA.

My glee diminished slowly but surely as conversations with the Louse throughout the day went along the lines of;

Louse: Nah. Eat some vitamin C and drink this water. It’s good for you.
Me: Ugh
Louse: Fine. Suit yourself

1 hour later…

Louse: Want to eat some bread?
Me: Nope. My throat hurts.
Louse: Fine. Suit yourself.

5 minutes later…

Louse: NADIA TAN WHY ARE YOU EATING ICE CREAM?
Me: It soothes my throat pheeeeeebbbsssss
Louse: Fine. Suit yourself.
Btw, you will so die if my dad was your doctor. My dad always says “It’s no point treating patients who won’t treat themselves.”

One day later…
I am now back home early from work because I am feeling significantly worse. Pheebs I am ready to take your doctorly advices now. Maafkanlah aku. Aku sudah insaf. I will drink plenty of water, eat my vitamin Cs, not eat ice cream and sleep early tonight=(.
