it's raining it's pouring.

It was a cloudy, blustery day; a day that required umbrellas at hand and umbrellas at hand we had!

Skipping along Swanston Street all the way to Melbourne Central with our little 2-D umbrellas, tailed by Nick with a videocam and being photographed, stared at and laughed at by strangers sure gave me a glimpse of the life of a Hollywood star. I am so relieved to be able to proclaim that a star's life is not the life for me=)

If there's anyone who's contemplating pursuing the dream of being a star and has thoughts of "Oh I wonder how it feels like being noticed and photographed and followed around", I think Nick still has the umbrellas and I'm sure he'll be more than happy to loan them to you.=)

annual dinner 2008.

This post is wayyy overdue.=) Life* Expedition's Annual Dinner 2008 has most definitely been one of the major highlights of the year. The friendships formed, the love experienced, the community united, the talents invested, has left me gaping in wonderment of the Creator.

of tattoos.

I had a very interesting conversation with Janice at work today. So we were at our respective places doing what we do best when there's not much to do; surfing the net whilst chatting about cabbages and kings among all sorts of other things.=)

Todays topic swayed towards tattoos. I found it surprisingly engaging and entertaining! I don't know if it's just me that went through a "dude, tattoos are cool yo. i should so get one" phase.

which of course opened a whole ginormous can of worms. From where should i get it?? wrist? ankle? higher back? lower back? back of neck? arm? side of tummy? smack in the middle of tummy? butt??(right or left side??) to what tattoo should I get?? an angel? a pair of wings? my chinese name? an animal? a bar code? a heart? a lolly? a dancer? a ballet shoe? you get the picture.

We found ourselves slowly consolidating our thoughts toward a more practical side of this tattoo issue. What happens if we're pregnant? What will happen when we become fatter? what if we lost weight? what if we get married and our whole backs were tattoos galore? then how to wear a backless dress??

So finally we concluded; By all means if one is sure, go ahead and get a tattoo. HOWEVER one must take into consideration the changes one's body might go through. Imagine for a moment; you have a beautiful angel tattoo on your tummy. When you're pregnant, you will have but a fat angel tattoo. And when you have delivered the baby, you will find that you have to live with fairy grandmother tattoo.

We also concluded that if you absolutely MUST get a tattoo but are not willing to compromise your tattoo's original shape, the safest place would be your forehead. We are not sure what will happen if one gets wrinkles there though. It was beyond our imaginations and we were pressed for time. Ken's coming with work for us to do.

Toodles!

at work.

It has been a lovely warmish morning=.) I walked into work, exchanged smiles and “good mornings’ with everyone and sat down. Anna promptly came over and told me on the dl that Phil was lamenting to her just yesterday. His apparent exact words were, “ What are we going to do without Nadia next time??”

(*In my heart* AwwWW they lurrrvee meee!! The really love me!!)

However, my excitement was short lived as Anna continued Phil’s lament:

“Who’s going to make the good coffee for us all?? No one makes it as good”

(drat.)

But oh well, better they love me for my coffee than not love me at all!

Right?

Hmm…
